If you would like to become part of our team of installers, please leave your details in the comments below.
Initially, we identify an area where swifts have been seen and flyer that area, including a deadline to respond. After the response deadline, we plot the addresses of the interested residents on a map and decide on a suitable date for installation. The more installers we have, the easier it is to find a suitable date and the quicker we can carry out the installations.
In most cases it isn't necessary for the resident to be at home when the installation happens, but there are exceptions and we have to allow for this.
Installers always work in teams of two or three and they will decide who is going to be available on the day and who will provide the equipment. We will provide the map/s and a progress form and the installers will collect the boxes from one of two locations early in the morning.
Progress is recorded on the form and photographs taken at each location to confirm the installation.
Installers work at their own pace - it isn't critical that each box is installed on the appointed day - safety is the overriding concern.
We have had discussions with residents about insurance in the past and the conclusion has been that resident and installer are each aware of the risks and that the resident's home insurance will cover the cost of any breakages. The installer, therefore, makes his own insurance arrangements as he/she sees fit.
